Kasturi Senbhunia
Primary Teacher
Having been introduced to music at a very early age by her father, Kasturi grew up in an environment which nurtured music and dance. She completed her basic classical and Rabindra Sangeet training along with her early education. After that she started her Rabindra Sangeet taalim from Geetabitan and classical taalim from Pandit Sukdeb Goswami. For many years, she endeavored to perfect her vocal skills under the able tutelage of Rabindra Sangeet stalwart Dr. Chitralekha Choudhury, Smt. Swagatalaksmi Dasgupta and Sri Debasish Roy. In her quest to pursue her knowledge in music, she is currently honing her skills in classical music under the expert guidance of renowned classical maestro Pandit Tushar Dutta.

Sri Abhijit Basu

Sri Abhijit Basu is a Bengali folk singer, lyricist, poet, composer & music director whose work is reflected in many Bangla feature films and his FOLK FUSION record series. He is not just a famous singer, but has also been a mentor, guru and advisor to many students and institutes. Around 400 famous folk singers of Bengal have been taught by Shri Abhijit Basu. His technique and format approaches a student to learn from their heart.

Pandit Tushar Dutta
Honorary Teacher
Pandit Tushar Dutta is one amongst the most celebrated vocalists of India. He was awarded the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and has been a ‘TOP GRADE’ artiste at the All India Radio. He had also received the Radio Mirchi Music Award for The Best Male Upcoming Vocalist . He has performed at many prestigious music conferences including the Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan (Rohtak 2013), ITC Sangeet Sammelan (all over India), Swarganga Sangeet Mahotsav (Mumbai), Saptak (Ahmedabad), Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav 2017 etc. He has been a part of multiple performances across the globe including US, UK, Canada, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, France, UAE,Oman,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Sri Debashis Roy
Honorary Teacher
Born and raised in the cultural and musical circles of North Kolkata, Sri Debashis Roy is a well-known and established name in the world of Rabindra Sangeet presently. He learned music from music guru: Sangeetacharya Prafulla Kumar Das and Pandit Lalit Mohan Sanyal. He also learned music from Kanupriya Basu, Professor Arun Kumar Bose, Suchitra Mitra, and other Rabindra Sangeet experts. Sri Debashis has been an integral part of the Swarlipi department at Visva-Bharti for almost four decades and is considered one of the most brilliant notationists. He is also a regular artist in music institutes like Visva-Bharati, Rabindra Bharati, Anandadhara, and Doordarshan. He was awarded the 1426 Prize for preserving the purity of classical music and passing on the same to the next generation. He is constantly working on various research programs and seminars on Brahma Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, and Swami Vivekananda’s Sangeetchinta.

Sri Girija Sankar Bhunia

Sri Girija Sankar Bhunia is a well-appreciated recitation artist (bachik shilpi) in the New England area. Kobita and Shrutinatok are his areas of expertise. Along with his poetry performance, Girija Sankar plays a wide variety of traditional and contemporary percussion instruments. His expertise includes traditional Indian folk instruments like ektara and dotara, as well as western string instruments like the Banjo and Ukulele. Percussion rhythms created by Mandira, Khamak, Duggi, and Dhol, to name a few, bring on an extra dimension to the songs performed by the students of the institute. This imbibes in students the sense of rhythm and beats. He is a founder member of the Parampara Folk Band as well.
