Parampara Folk Band

About Parampara:  Founded in 2014, Parampara is a vibrant folk band that has captivated audiences across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York. Rooted in the rich and diverse folk traditions of Bengal, the band brings timeless music to life with authenticity and passion.

Blending powerful vocals, dynamic rhythms, and evocative storytelling, Parampara creates an immersive musical experience that bridges generations. Each performance is a journey—reviving the spirit of traditional melodies while connecting them with contemporary audiences.

Under the leadership of Kasturi SenBhunia, the band continues to celebrate cultural heritage through music that is both soulful and energizing.

Our Sound: Parampara’s music is a rich fusion of traditional and contemporary influences. The band plays a wide variety of instruments, combining the essence of Indian folk with global musical elements.

Their sound features traditional Bengali folk instruments such as the ektara and dotara, alongside Western string instruments like the banjo and ukulele. This unique blend creates a distinctive and engaging musical texture.

Rhythmic depth is brought to life through an array of percussion instruments, including mandira, khamak, duggi, and dhol, adding vibrant energy and an extra dimension to every performance.
